Posted by Omega | Aug 21, 2019

Explaining a career in community association management, where do we start?! In summary, association management is a diverse and ever-changing compilation of projects and tasks combined with a core goal of homeowner satisfaction. To get down to it, what do we do and why do we do it? We’ve interviewed some of our veteran Omega employees as well as new hires to give a glimpse into our day-to-day lives in the association management business.

“As a senior manager with Omega, what is your biggest lesson that you share with new employees?”

In many ways this is a simple business. Success is simple – you pay attention to detail, always tell the truth, and keep your commitments to your clients. If you remember those things, then the rest of it will come. Dave Stendal, Founder of Omega

“What is your average day like?”

It is ever-changing, there is never a same day and the day goes by quickly. We have lots of fun as an office even when it’s chaotic. Kathy Roth, Property Services Coordinator

“What’s the best part of your job?”

The best part of my job is working with the boards and getting to know them on a deeper level so you build those relationships. I also love being outside in the summer so it’s great being onsite doing site inspections in the sunshine. There’s never a dull moment. Alyson Astleford, Association Manager

“As a new employee to Omega, what is your biggest takeaway in order to be successful?”

My biggest takeaway as newer person is to ask lots of questions – there’s a lot of information. Don’t be afraid to ask for help since we are a team. Addy Peterson, Customer Service Representative

“What would you tell someone looking to get into association management?”

You have to be prepared to be on your feet, take charge, and be willing to work with different people and vendors. You’re working with attorneys, painters, homeowners – this is a people-oriented business so should have good communication skills to succeed. Alyson Astleford, Association Manager

We are on the hunt for a new manager and support staff positions and we can’t wait to hear from you to join the Omega team!
