A Look at Twin Cities Activities During The Big Game Week

Even if you can’t afford a ticket to the Super Bowl on Feb. 4 at U.S. Bank Stadium, there are plenty of activities in the Twin Cities where you can be a part of the action. After all, not everyone can afford NFL official VIP packages that start at $6,599 per seat, right?

  • Concerts. There’s a musical act to fit anyone’s taste during Super Bowl week. Whether you’re into P!nk, Imagine Dragons or Florida Georgia Line, there are a variety of concerts with tickets available. But there’s also a series of free shows on Nicollet Mall featuring mostly Minnesota acts. Check out this St. Paul Pioneer Press article for an overview of the concerts.
  • Super Bowl Experience. At the Minneapolis Convention Center, you can “Get Inside the Game.” Activities include experiencing the NFL in virtual reality, having your photo taken with the Vince Lombardi Trophy, getting free autographs from NFL players, and more. The Super Bowl Experience runs from Jan. 27 to Feb. 3.
  • Bold North Zip Line. Although tickets for the zip line have sold out, you may be able to watch from a distance participants soaring for nearly 800 feet across the Mississippi River alongside the Grain Belt bridge.
  • Ice Palace 2018. Speaking of crossing the river, this year’s Saint Paul Winter Carnival will feature a 4,000 block, 70-foot tall Ice Palace in the heart of Rice Park to celebrate winter. Learn more about how you can buy a block to help build the “People’s Palace” at wintercarnival.com/ice-palace-2018/
  • Polaris UpsideDowntown. On Feb. 3 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., you can see some amazing snowmobile stunts on Nicollet Mall, including Minnesota native Levi LaValle concluding the show with a backflip on his snowmobile – launching nearly 100 feet between two ramps.

Bundle up and enjoy the Bold North!
